HOW IS THE WATER TREATED?
Desalination: Most cruise ship water is desalinated seawater, which is treated using steam evaporation or reverse osmosis systems.
Chlorination: The water is chlorinated for added safety.
Mineralization: The water is mineralized to enhance its flavor.
WHERE DOES THE WATER COME FROM?
Shoreside water treatment plant: The water may come from a shoreside water treatment plant.
Seawater: The water may come from seawater that's treated on board using reverse osmosis systems or evaporators.
WHAT CAN I BRING ON BOARD?
According to Carnival Cruise Line's policy, you cannot bring bottled water in plastic or glass bottles onboard; however, you can bring a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages like soda, juice or sparkling water in sealed cans or cartons within your carry-on luggage on Embarkation Day.
You can bring distilled water in your carry-on luggage for use with a CPAP machine or for babies.
You can bring a small quantity of sealed, unopened cans or cartons of non-alcoholic drinks such as juice, soda, or sparkling water.
You can purchase bottled water on board. If you need water, you can purchase it directly on the ship.
